Multiple Product or Unique Product Configurations
The carded blister format allows for different products to be presented in the same package. Examples might be for titration dosing or for daytime and nighttime formulations. The patented tablet storage compartment (also known as sliding blister) allows for broken tablet storage within the card. Since product placement is only limited by the size of the card, a variety of unique product placements can be used for dosing methods or brand recognition.
Information, Coupon or Reply Card Areas
The extra dimension of a carded blister allows for product information and graphics on the front and back of the package, promotional graphics, coupons or a business reply card that can be perforated and mailed to learn more about your customer.
Custom Die-Cut Configurations
Almost any shape or configuration is available with a carded blister. Unique shapes aid in visual and product recognition. Closure tabs can be added as well as pockets for patient information. Perforated coupons or business reply cards can be designed into the card for customer response.

Package Finishing
The carded blister unit can be packaged into a variety of containers including trays, cartons and dispensers. Cards can be sealed with a wafer seal if desired. Banding and shrink wrapping of packages is also available. Finished packages are placed in labeled shipping cartons based on customer specification.
Inserts and Information
Patient information inserts, dosing stickers, coupons, and business cards are among the many items that can be manually inserted into carded blisters for enhanced compliance and information. These materials can be customer-supplied or purchased by Sharp, which ever is desired. Sharp can design a package to allow for component verification using bar codes. This allows each component to be read to verify its presence during the packaging process.
Child-Resistant Options
Sharp has had a long history of designing child resistant packages that have been successfully used and readily accepted into the marketplace. Certain carded blister designs can offer child-resistant (CR) and Senior friendly options. Sharp can assist you in designing a package that adheres to your CR protocol, provide sample packages for testing and market study and then complete the product production. The Tab Back and Zipper Back are examples of CR formats where card stock weight, the number of nicks in the tab and their placement provide a double-access barrier to child access.
Quality Controls
Sharp uses a variety of equipment—check weigher, bar code scanners and machine vision—as well as visual inspection to assure quality throughout the process. Finished components in trays or dispensers are weighed for content verification. Line inspectors randomly pull product on a regular basis from the line to assure a quality package. Our dedicated quality assurance/quality control personnel assure strict cGMP compliance to SOPs and FDA regulations. Accurate detailed batch record documentation accompanies every project at Sharp with supervisors and inspectors monitoring the process.
